She turned off ANONYMOUS asks. Anon is such a valiant defender against my girlfriend’s evil thoughts but it can’t even show its face.

I have a hard time taking you seriously when you constantly troll and make me sound brainwashed to my girlfriend’s evil rhetoric. 

I know that, it’s about leveling the playing field for people of all backgrounds. Women have not been a minority in college demographics since the 80’s. I don’t think anyone cares that someone who has served their country for the last few years gets an advantage in college admissions. I mean that’s true but colleges never do that, seeing as they usually have 50-60% of whites on their campus at most. There’s always a sizable portion of the campus that is considered, not just one or two people here and there unless you go to KKKU. 

I got a higher score than her. She also constantly tells me she can’t believe how hard I work. She’s saying that I got a scholarship ENTIRELY because I am Hispanic and got a good score…. which is true. Because it’s not given to non-Hispanics. 

She’s not a bigot or a racist. What she says is entirely true. The affirmative action system, while a good idea on paper and well intentioned, is executed horribly. A rich black man looking to apply to colleges faces none of the problems that affirmative action tries to erase and gains all the benefits. The entire system of affirmative action is bigoted within itself due to it basically saying “hey, you’re hispanic/black. You must’ve grown up in a bad environment. Have a handout. “

I absolutely appreciate the value of a system that evens the playing field for those less fortunate, such as minorities that grow up below the poverty line or something like that. HOWEVER, the system as is does not solve the problem entirelyl, as it gives massive benefits to affluent minorities who grow up in great situations. 

I agree with the idea of affirmative action. My girlfriend and I both agree, however, that the system as is not executed well. That is what she is trying to say. 

my bad, i didnt get NMS, i got national hispanic scholar. Which is only valid for hispanics. Thats what I mean when I say that I would not have gotten it otherwise. my girlfriend is amazing and brings up my self-esteem everyday, stop trolling. 

she means that if I was fully white, I would not have gotten recognition for my PSAT score, which is absolutely true. thats because the only reason I got recognized for my score WAS my race haha.
